My Bio

Hugo started performing his tribute to Elvis during his kindergarten days at his elementary school’s annual talent show. Once every year, Hugo would prepare to sing and dance a different Elvis song until his 8th-grade year when 13 jailbirds performed “Jailhouse Rock”.

Throughout his high school years, Hugo volunteered at great Chicagoland NFPOs and, thanks to a big fan, managed to add his 1st restaurant to his monthly calendar. Now, you can see Hugo once a month at 4 different venues around Chicago.

Since 2015, Hugo has participated in several competitions and is earning the respect of fellow ETAs and fans alike. In 2023, he will be looking into more competitions including the Windy City Elvis Competition in February, Last Chance in Memphis, and FANtasy Fest in Indiana.

Hugo, a proud Chicagoan, Lane Tech High School 2019 alumnus, and Chicagoland’s young Elvis Tribute Artist performs all of the legendary early television, radio, record and concert recordings of all of Elvis’ genres from gospel, ballads, rockabilly, Hawaiian and Christmas favorites
to the icon’s greatest rock n’ roll hits from the1950s and beyond!

Life-streams shared around the world!

“When the world shut down in 2020, my family enjoyed being home. All seven of us happened to be together during the pandemic. Like the majority of the people on earth we had nothing to do but learn something new.

I learned how to livestream.

In July, 2020, Mr Ade Hibbert, of the UK, invited me to sing on his Facebook page, Elvis Tribute Artists. That was the beginning of a new experience - performing for a virtual audience, livestreaming for Elvis fans around the world!”

2006-2015

Elementary School Talent Show

The first time Hugo stepped on stage, he was a tiny kindergartener, full of confidence and charisma. For 8 consecutive years, he performed in Dever Elementary's Talent Show, perfecting his craft and talent. His first performance, Viva Las Vegas, was a hit and his last, Jailhouse Rock, with 13 other friends joining in as jailbirds, was his favorite

2015-2017

Volunteering around Chicagoland

Hugo's first 1-hour show was at a nursing home down the street from his house. Although it was scary at first, volunteering has refined Hugo's stage presence. Performing for veterans, special needs groups, and elders who saw Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show in 1956 makes him very happy. Hugo continues to include volunteer performances, especially for fundraisers, in his schedule

Restaurants, Private Events, and Competitions

While in high school, Hugo got a gig at his first restaurant. Since then he has performed in at least a dozen, several for more than 2 years. Hugo has also been hired to perform at private events, ranging from weddings and corporate parties to drive-by sidewalk concerts during the pandemic.

“Some people tap their feet, some people snap their fingers, and some people sway back and forth. I just sorta do ‘em all together, I guess.”
